What is HOM Escape In Style?
HOM Escape In Style is a complete line of products created by world-class designers featuring warm, modern design and functional amenities at a great price point. The product line includes manufactured houses, furniture, lighting, textiles, and accessories that are designed to be used indoors and outdoors.
What is the inspiration behind the HOM product line?
The HOM line of products was inspired by the love of indoor/outdoor living and the opportunity to provide balance to our busy lives by connecting with nature in a simple, low-impact, and stylish way.
Who are the designers behind HOM?
An expert team of architects, interior designers, landscape architects, and brand experience designers from the award-winning KAA Design Group in Los Angeles, California.
What makes HOM different from other manufactured housing products on the market?
HOM is different from other manufactured housing in that it is modeled after a proven 85-year old industry, the mobile home industry. Similarly, it relies on an extensive North American dealer distribution network to manage the entire process.
Why should I consider buying a HOM instead of building one on-site?
The biggest advantages of HOM versus site-built housing are speed and efficiency. Factory production streamlines and expedites the process of manufacturing and transportation by utilizing a controlled environment to increase quality and reduce environmental impact by limiting construction waste and material and labor transportation requirements. Speed and efficiency result in a viable economic solution.
What makes HOM eco-friendly?
HOM Escape In Style™ was created around the idea that living simply and ecologically doesn't have to come at the cost of style or comfort. Please see ECOLOGY for additional information.
Where is HOM manufactured? By what company?
HOM is in final negotiations with a high-quality, US-based manufactured housing company who has been a leader in the industry for more than 40 years.

What is the cost of a HOM?
Approximately $200 per square foot depending on options. This does not include delivery, set-up, foundation, or decking.
Can the furniture, lighting, and accessories be purchased separately?
Yes.
Can you customize the HOM unit?
Yes. There are several options for the interior and exterior finishes, as well as, a range of fixtures, appliances, and alternative energy systems.
Does the HOM require a foundation? How do you stabilize the HOM?
Yes, the HOM unit requires either a metal pier foundation system (common in the manufactured housing industry) or a perimeter concrete foundation.
What permits are required?
It is important to contact your planning and building department to inquire about any local restrictions. The HOM unit leaves the factory federally permitted (HUD) and usually only requires a local permit standard for manufactured housing.
How do you transport HOM?
The HOM unit is towed to your site on its own axle and wheels by a semi-trailer truck.
Once installed, can you move the HOM?
The axle and wheels remain in place under the HOM, disguised by skirting and an optional modular deck system, thus allowing HOM to be relocated in the future.
Can HOM be considered a "mobile home"?
HOM falls under the federal HUD code of manufactured housing. This category replaced what was formally referred to as "mobile housing" in the early 1980s.
